At Your Leisure

A resident-led forum where Leisure World neighbors discuss community life, share experiences, examine issues, and propose ideas for improvement.

About Us

What is “At Your Leisure”?

A respectful, open space for feedback, connection, informed discussion, and creative collaboration among Leisure World residents.

A Forum Built Around Residents

“At Your Leisure” is a resident-led monthly Zoom forum where residents of Leisure World come together to discuss life in the community, share experiences, and propose ideas for improvement.

The forum is independent in spirit and conversational in format. Its aim is not simply to identify problems, but to improve understanding and give residents a useful place to exchange ideas.

How a Forum Works

Each gathering consists of five panelists with active microphones. During the Open Forum, comments and questions are welcomed using the Zoom “raised hand” feature or through Chat.

Residents may participate as listeners, questioners, registered participants, or panelists depending on the subject and format.

Our working principles: civility, clarity, resident access, good information, differing viewpoints, and discussion focused on improving community life.

Session 5

“LW Policies and Procedures Handbooks”

Goal: Clarity

Policies work best when residents can readily find them, understand them, and know how they are applied. This session will focus on the written rules and procedures that affect use of community facilities, recognized clubs and groups, and resident activities.

  • Identify the policies and procedures residents most often need.
  • Distinguish written policy from custom, practice, or interpretation.
  • Discuss how policy changes and exceptions are communicated.
  • Consider ways to make governing documents easier to locate and understand.
  • Give residents an opportunity to raise questions in an orderly public forum.
